Iraqi children in Tuz receive school supplies

TUZ, Iraq- The mayor and city council members of Tuz, with Coalition Forces from the Tuz area delivered school supplies and toys to the youngest of Iraq’s students. On October 27 supplies were delivered to 220 students in four separate kindergarten classes in Tuz. The supplies were sent from Soldiers’ friends and families in the United States for the children of Iraq.
The future of Iraq depends the successful education of the children. The Coalition Forces, with funds from both the old regime and dollars from the United States, have provided for the building of many schools and the repair of many others in the last year. In eastern Diyala Province and the Tuz area Coalition Forces have spent more than $600,000 in support of educational projects and more than $400,000 is allocated for future projects in the eastern Diyala and Tuz areas.
